“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain
The idea of greatness is a universal desire. The definition of what it is to be great is as unique as each individual who strives to achieve it. Greatness to some people might mean that they would like to become President and to another it may be get a decent grade on a paper. Sometimes I consider it a great feat to fold my laundry. Regardless of what it might mean to you, to strive to become better than you are is something that is so important for self worth which, if achieved, will lead to success in every aspect of your life both personal, academic and professional. This is the goal of the blog. This blog is for you, the students of Towson University. It is about you and for you. The unifying objective of our articles is to inspire you to achieve your own goals to help you become successful graduates.
We will provide ideas, information and tools that you can use on a daily
basis as well as during your entire tenure here at Towson. If there is a specific topic you would like us to address, please let us know as this collaboration is also a two-way street and we will count on your feedback and ideas. The departments involved in the blog reflect a wide variety of aspects of a student’s experience which is one of the reasons why we will be able to address so many areas. While some of our posts will deal with personal challenges, others may be more directed to specific areas of academics. Regardless of the content, the end goal will be the same which is to give you something you can use.
The authors of the articles will be the staff of:
- The Undergraduate Academic Advising Center
- The Counseling Center
- The Career Center
- The Academic Achievement Center
Please spread the word and tell others about our little endeavor. This is the time of the Thriving Tiger and we welcome you!
